Doble Field Service Engineer INT2016

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Support field-testing projects, including equipment coordination with the Field Service Team, and client communication
• Perform field-testing of electric apparatus at locations including, but not limited to, utility companies, generation plants, and industrial sites
• Assist on online PD testing, Site Acceptance Testing (commissioning) on MV/HV cables, transformers, and rotating machines
• Perform routine electrical testing of cables, power and distribution transformers, voltage regulators, bushings, and circuit breakers from different manufacturers (ABB, Siemens, Waukesha, SMIT, and others)
• Inventory and materials planning to meet job and project requirements
• Collaborate on the generation of technical reports

DECISION-MAKING LATITUDE

• Responsible for the direct interaction with the customer. Logistic coordination to comply with site access requirements and deadlines
• Pre-assess data on-site to communicate relevant results to Senior Engineers
• Identification of PD phenomena activity while collecting data on commissioning and online testing projects

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field OR a combination of equivalent experience, education, and training in the above areas

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Familiarity with electrical substations and power plants
• Proper use of electrical test equipment to include spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, multi-meters, signal generators
• Experience reading schematics (one-line diagrams)
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
• Ability to professionally communicate with customers

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE (Not Required):

• Experience with high voltage test equipment (resonant test systems)
• Experience with maintenance of high voltage assets in power plants or heavy industry
• Experience with Partial Discharge equipment
• Familiar and comfortable with domestic and international travel
• Certified Infrared thermographer
• OSHA training
• NFPA 70 training

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Attention to detail
• Services orientation
• Knowledge of power equipment (transformers, generators, cables, motors)
• Domestic and International travel required (50-60%)
• Ability to work independently

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers and customers.
