The Dock worker will handle various responsibilities on the dock, such as incoming and outgoing shipments, checking for damages and/or discrepancies on all orders, checking case counts on outgoing pallets, tracking and counting the inventory of all packaging materials, etc. Excellent record-keeping is a must.
This position reports to the Shipping and Receiving Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compare documentation against physical counts of all incoming and outgoing shipments. Ensure there are no damaged products sent or received. If any product is missing and/or damaged, note it on the documentation as clearly as possible.
- For incoming products, confirm the pallets are not broken or compromised.
- Check if there is sufficient ice on all inbound products. If not enough ice, product must be drained and re-iced.
- Ice products whenever necessary or as instructed by the manager.
- Check temperature of truck cab and products upon receipt.
- Compare outgoing customer packing lists again the physical cases on each pallet to make sure all products are being shipped.
- Walk the cooler daily to make sure all products were shipped timely and nothing was left behind.
- Complete all necessary receiving paperwork so it can be loaded timely and accurately to the company drive.
- Assist in the cooler whenever necessary to relocate and/or move product.
- Assist in the releasing of product to the Production department.
- Able to use an electric pallet jack.
Schedule:
- The first three weeks of training, the schedule will be Monday through Friday, from 7am until the work is completed.
- The fourth week, the schedule will Monday through Friday, from 7am until the work is completed and a rotation Sunday workday every three weeks.

- Good computer skills needed. (Excel and Word).
- Work well with others and be part of the team.
- Ability to maintain accurate records.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in cold and wet environments.
- Good attendance record.
