About the Role
We are seeking a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) to join a healthcare team providing podiatric care across nursing homes, assisted-living centers, and long-term care facilities. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about improving patient outcomes in senior care settings while maintaining flexibility in scheduling.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed assessments of foot and ankle conditions.
- Provide routine care such as nail trimming, callus removal, and wound management.
- Diagnose and treat podiatric issues including infections, ulcers, and deformities.
- Develop individualized treatment plans for residents.
- Collaborate closely with facility staff and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on proper foot care and preventive practices.
- Accurately document care using EMR systems and maintain compliance with state standards.
- Travel between assigned facilities within Illinois or Florida, depending on assignment.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree with active licensure (or eligibility to obtain within required timeframe).
- Board Qualified or Board Certified by ABPM or ABFAS.
- Strong clinical expertise in podiatric assessment, treatment, and wound care.
- Compassionate approach to patient care, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel within the assigned region.
