Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manage and provide comprehensive medical care for critically ill infants, children, and adolescents admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic tests, including but not limited to, blood work, imaging studies, and cardiac monitoring, to rapidly assess patient conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication administration, ventilator management, and nutritional support, to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other specialists to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Educate and counsel patients and their families regarding medical conditions, treatment plans, and prognosis, offering empathetic support during stressful times.
  • Participate in daily rounds, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and the overall effectiveness of the PICU.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in pediatric critical care through continuing medical education and research activities, contributing to the advancement of the field.
  • Maintain meticulous medical records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant hospital policies and regulatory requirements.


Desired Candidate Profile

  • Holds board certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.
  • Possesses a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Equivalent from an accredited medical school.
  • Maintain valid UAE Medical license (DHA/MOH) as "Pediatric Critical Care" Doctor to start clinical Practice
  • Demonstrates a minimum of 4 years of experience in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) setting.
  • Exhibits proficiency in advanced life support techniques, including PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
  • Possesses exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Shows adaptability, resilience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
