Core Responsibilities
- Interpret Diagnostic Imaging: Accurately read and report all modalities (X-ray, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine).
- Comprehensive Sonography: Interpret and report all types of Ultrasound (Sonography), including Abdominal, Pelvic, Small Parts, OB/GYN, and MSK.
- Advanced Doppler Expertise: Perform and interpret all forms of Doppler studies (Color, Power, Spectral), especially for complex vascular assessments (Carotid, Renal, Peripheral).
- Interventional Procedures: Perform and oversee image-guided procedures (biopsies, drain insertions, aspirations), utilizing US guidance.
- Critical Communication: Promptly communicate critical or unexpected findings to referring clinicians.
- Clinical Consultation: Provide expert advice on appropriate imaging choices and clinical implications.
- Quality & Governance: Participate in quality assurance, peer review, and clinical governance programs.
- Training & Mentorship: Supervise and educate junior medical staff and sonographers in advanced techniques.
- MDT Participation: Active attendance and contribution to Multidisciplinary Team meetings.
- On-Call Coverage: Participate in the departmental on-call or out-of-hours rota.
Essential Qualifications
- MD/MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
- Board Certification in Radiology (e.g., FRCR, ABR).
- Current, unrestricted medical license.
- Proven expertise in advanced Doppler and general sonography.
