About the Role

Habib Bank AG Zurich is seeking an experienced Documentation Specialist to develop and maintain high‑quality technical and user documentation for software applications and systems. This role bridges the gap between technical teams and business users, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency across all software documentation within a banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and update technical and functional documentation for software applications
• Develop user guides, system manuals, API documentation, and process documentation
• Work closely with software developers, analysts, and QA teams to understand system functionality
• Document user ‑ facing applications with consideration for UI/UX principles
• Ensure documentation aligns with software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes and methodologies
• Use tools such as Jira and Git to track documentation changes and software project updates
• Review and validate documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
• Support audit, regulatory, and knowledge‑transfer requirements
• Maintain documentation standards, templates, and version control
• Assist in onboarding and training by providing clear and structured documentation

Required Qualifications

• 4 years Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field from a reputable university
• 3–5 years of experience in documentation or technical writing roles
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the banking sector

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

• MBA or Master’s degree in an IT‑related field
• Proven experience in technical writing or software documentation
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript (plus)
• Good understanding of software development processes, tools, and technologies
• Experience documenting user interfaces and workflows
• Strong attention to detail and ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear documentation
• Excellent written communication skills in English
