Dog Companion

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Dog Companion to provide exceptional care and support to our canine residents. This role involves engaging with dogs through training, handling, and pet care activities to ensure their well-being and happiness. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animals, excellent customer service skills, and experience in animal handling and veterinary-related tasks. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on animal welfare and client satisfaction.

Duties

• Provide daily care, feeding, and exercise for dogs in accordance with their individual needs
• Assist with dog training sessions to promote good behavior and socialization
• Handle dogs safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff
• Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding their pets’ health, behavior, and special needs

Qualifications

• Prior experience in dog handling, pet grooming, or pet sitting preferred
• Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary assistant experience is a plus
• Familiarity with animal restraint procedures and kennel management
• Strong animal handling skills with the ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., lifting dogs or supplies)
• Excellent customer service skills with a caring attitude towards animals and clients
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Physical stamina for heavy lifting and long periods of standing or walking
• Compassionate nature with a genuine love for animals and their well-being
