About Us:
Tayls N Trails LLC is a growing dog training and adventure hiking company dedicated to helping dogs live their best lives through structured outdoor experiences and balanced training. We’re currently hiring a Dog Handler / Adventure Hiker – Training Program to join our team with the opportunity to grow into other positions.
Job Summary:
This role is perfect for someone who loves working with dogs, enjoys being active outdoors, and is looking to build a career in dog training and leadership. Over the course of your first 3 months, you’ll rotate through leash-walking dogs, facilitating group play sessions, and leading dogs through light training exercises. These foundational skill are critical in moving to trainer or hiking position which will be evaluated.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead safe, structured leash-walks, group play, and group training
- Assist with group training sessions and free play supervision
- Monitor dog behavior and practice basic obedience with dogs
- Use balanced, humane training techniques during all interactions
- Communicate with clients about their dogs’ behavior and progress
- Refill water bowls and fountains throughout the day
- Maintain cleanliness of facility and crates
- Assist in other tasks as needed
Requirements
- 1+ year of experience in dog handling, or related field
- Some knowledge of dog behavior, body language, and safety protocols
- Comfortable being outdoors in all types of weather
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to handle multiple dogs of varying sizes and temperaments
