Join the Pack at Mountain Dogs – Where Passion Meets Purpose

Job Summary:

At Mountain Dogs, we don’t just care for dogs—we shape a place where animals, their owners, and our team feel truly at home. We're seeking a dedicated, dog-loving team member to help us create safe, joyful, and well-run spaces for the dogs in our care and the clients we serve. This is more than a job—it’s a chance to make a real impact in the lives of animals, while learning valuable skills in a supportive, community-driven workplace.

This role blends hands-on animal care with customer service and retail, offering variety and responsibility. From running playgroups in our co-mingled yards to helping a new pet owner find the perfect product, you’ll have a direct hand in delivering the Mountain Dogs experience.

What You’ll Do:

  • Animal Care & Kennel Responsibilities
  • Manage, Supervise, and interact with dogs in our co-mingled play yards, maintaining safety and positive pack behavior
  • Perform daily cleaning, sanitizing, and maintenance of kennel areas to exceed PACFA standards
  • Feed dogs according to individualized instructions, and administer routine medications with care and precision

Customer Service & Retail

  • Welcome and assist clients, both in-person and by phone, with warmth and professionalism
  • Schedule services and manage appointments using Paw Partner software
  • Guide customers in selecting retail items, including food, treats, toys, and supplements
  • Operate our Square point-of-sale system with accuracy and integrity
  • Maintain a clean, stocked, and inviting retail space

What Makes This Job Rewarding:

Purpose-driven work: Be part of a business that puts animal welfare, customer trust, and community first.

Team atmosphere: Work alongside passionate, committed animal lovers in a supportive environment.

Real growth: Gain hands-on experience with animal behavior, customer engagement, and retail operations—perfect for those interested in careers in animal care, vet tech, or entrepreneurship.

Upside potential: Earn performance-based raises, gain cross-training opportunities, and help shape new services as the company grows.

What You Should Know:

  • Working in a kennel means getting your hands dirty—cleaning, managing high-energy dogs, and moving quickly through physical tasks.
  • The dogs don’t always read the schedule—noise, messes, and unexpected situations are part of the job.
  • We rely on team members who are DEPENDABLE, resilient, responsible, and calm under pressure.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with dogs, retail, or customer service is a plus—but we’re willing to train the right person
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly, helpful attitude
  • Physically capable of standing, bending, lifting up to 40 lbs, and being on your feet for extended periods
  • Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and energy levels
