Dog Trail Walker

About the role

• At Hudson Pack Adventures, we focus on solo and small pack trail adventures specifically designed for high-drive, large, reactive, or overweight dogs that cannot participate in traditional pack environments. Our goal is to allow dogs to decompress in nature away from neighborhood triggers.
• You would be a good fit if you already specialize in handling high drive, large, and reactive dogs as well as love being on trails. This is an opportunity to build your own high-revenue book of business off the pavement while receiving local dog clients from us to fill out your schedule and gain experience in handling all breeds and behaviors of dogs.
• We are a growing company that is rapidly expanding and will provide leads as they come in per area. If you are someone looking to grow with a small business, we'd love to have you join the pack!

What you'll do

• Provide structured pack walks, solo walks, and/or short-trail sniffari walks
• Provide detailed attention and care to each dog and communicate effectively with managers, coworkers, and clients
• Safely pick up and drop off dogs at their houses
• Send updates and photos as well as a report card of the activity and where you went to pet parents after each walk
• Maintain a consistent weekday schedule
• Represent our team professionally

Compensation and Perks

• Base Pay: $25/hr for company leads
• Referrals: 80% of the service for self-generated business leads
• Gear: You will be outfitted with our required equipment, including durable Biothane long lines, seat belt harness attachments, custom safety vest, and Tractive GPS devices (if off-leash)
• Software Stack : You will utilize our full software stack, including AllTrails for live GPS tracking to ensure total transparency and Time to Pet for booking, communication, etc.
• Track your mileage and all independent contractor expenses for free through Stride!

Requirements

• Live within a 30 min drive of Hudson, MA
• Reliable access to a vehicle (required for travel between walks and to drive to trails)
• Previous professional dog-handling experience preferred
• Communication and time management skills
• Comfortable working independently and outdoors in all weather conditions (rain or shine, snow, extreme heat, etc)

Schedule

• Regular business hours and 9am-6pm M-F
• Most walks will be between 9am-4pm M-F
• Weekend walks available at higher rate
