Duties

• Take dogs on engaging walks tailored to their size, breed, and energy level, ensuring they get proper exercise and mental stimulation
• Provide pet sitting services in clients’ homes, including feeding, administering medication if needed, and maintaining a clean environment
• Handle animals safely using proper techniques and animal handling skills to prevent injury or stress
• Monitor pet behavior during walks and visits, recognizing signs of distress or health issues that may require veterinary attention
• Maintain detailed records of each pet’s activities, feeding schedules, health concerns, and special instructions
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ well-being and any notable observations during visits

Experience

• Prior experience in dog handling, pet sitting, or animal care is highly preferred
• Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary experience (such as veterinary technician or assistant background) is a plus
• Strong customer service skills are essential for building trust with pet owners and addressing their concerns professionally
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for supplies or equipment related to pet care
• Strong communication skills are essential to build trust and keep pet owners and coworkers in the know
