In this energetic role, you will be responsible for safely guiding dogs through off-leash activities, ensuring their happiness, safety, and well-being while providing exceptional pet care. This position offers a dynamic environment where active engagement and animal handling skills are celebrated, making every day an adventure for both you and the dogs.

Duties

• Lead groups of dogs through off-leash play sessions in secure, supervised outdoor environments, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
• Monitor dog behavior continuously, using animal handling and restraint techniques to prevent conflicts and ensure a harmonious experience.
• Provide basic dog training commands to promote good manners and socialization during activities.
• Observe and assess each dog’s health and temperament, reporting any concerns or unusual behaviors to management promptly.
• Maintain clean and safe play areas.
• Engage with pet owners by providing updates on their dogs’ activities and well-being, fostering trust and excellent customer service.
• Punctuality and daily/weekly reliability a must. Bentleys Legacy prides itself on running camp 4 days a week as clients rely on us to care for their canines.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in dog handling, pet sitting, or animal care roles such as kennel work or veterinary assistant positions.
• Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal restraint methods to ensure safety during off-leash activities.
• Strong animal handling skills with an ability to manage multiple dogs safely in an outdoor setting.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., assisting larger dogs or equipment).
• Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, and engage actively throughout the day in various weather conditions. Join us in creating a lively, safe environment where dogs can thrive off-leash! • This position will start as paid training starting in April and May with June/July/August as running camp solo. This is a 5 month commitment with the opportunity to come on as a full time employee in the future.

Pay: $350.00 - $400.00 per week
