Pawfect Day is a professional pet care company founded in NYC, providing reliable and personalized dog walking and pet care services to pet parents throughout Manhattan.

We’re looking for strong, reliable dog walkers to join our team and care for some amazing (and very energetic!) pups. Many of our clients have large, high-energy dogs who require full hour-long exercise walks, so this role is ideal for someone who enjoys being outdoors, staying active, and confidently handling strong dogs.

Schedule

Most of our hour-long exercise walks take place between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

While Pawfect Day offers services throughout the day (8 AM – 6 PM), applicants should ideally have consistent availability during the midday window, when demand is highest.

What You'll Be Doing

• Walking dogs for 30–60 minute exercise walks throughout Manhattan
• Handling large and high-energy dogs safely on leash
• Navigating busy sidewalks, crosswalks, and city environments
• Providing attentive care in clients' homes
• Sending walk updates with photos and notes through our mobile app
• Monitoring dogs for health, behavior, or safety concerns
• Ensuring dogs get proper exercise, bathroom breaks, and enrichment

Physical Requirements

This role is physically active and best suited for someone comfortable with:

• Walking 5–10 miles per day around Manhattan
• Handling dogs 50–100+ lbs on leash
• Controlling dogs that may pull or move quickly
• Climbing stairs in walk-up apartment buildings
• Squatting, bending, and kneeling frequently
• Walking in rain, heat, snow, or cold weather
• Carrying supplies and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs

Requirements

• Must own a smartphone with GPS, camera, and data plan
• Must be reliable and punctual
• Comfortable working independently
• Prior dog care, dog walking, or animal care experience is a plus
• Ability to safely manage strong dogs on leash
