This is not an entry-level role. We are looking for individuals who are already confident managing pet care independently, communicating professionally with clients, and taking full ownership of their schedule and responsibilities.

What You’ll Do

• Provide reliable, high-quality care for dogs, cats, and small animals
• Follow detailed care instructions for feeding, exercise, medication, and routines
• Communicate clearly with clients and the office team
• Complete visits on time and within scheduled windows
• Complete visit reports with detailed notes and photos using our scheduling app
• Manage your schedule and travel efficiently between visits
• Communicate promptly about schedule changes, concerns, or issues
• Represent Queen City Pet Sitting professionally in clients’ homes

Scheduling & Availability

We are currently hiring for one or more of the following:

• Midday Dog Walks (Mon–Fri, ~11am–2pm)
• Morning, Evening, and Weekend Visits
• Holiday Availability (strongly preferred)
• Overnight Sitting & Boarding

Schedules are built based on your availability and grow over time as you build a client base. Workload builds based on your availability, reliability, and performance.

Requirements

• Must live in or near: SouthPark, Myers Park, Dilworth, South End, Uptown, Plaza Midwood, Elizabeth, Ballantyne, or Matthews
• Must have reliable transportation (personal vehicle) & driver's license
• Must have smartphone with consistent access during working hours
• Must be comfortable working independently and managing time effectively
• Strong communication skills, time management skills, and attention to detail
• Prior experience with pets (personal or professional)
• Able to pass a background check

This position is best suited for individuals who:

• Have prior pet sitting, dog walking, veterinary, kennel, or animal care experience
• Can handle a variety of pet behaviors confidently
• Understand that this is a 1099 independent contractor role (not an hourly paid job)
• Are comfortable working independently without supervision
• Can manage their own schedule, travel, and time efficiently
• Communicate clearly, proactively, and professionally with both clients and our office
• Take responsibility for delivering a consistent, high-quality client experience
• Are able to commit long-term (this is not seasonal work)

If you are looking for guaranteed hours, a fixed schedule, or a traditional employee structure, this role will not be a fit.

Compensation

• Paid per visit (this is not an hourly position)
• Opportunities for increased earnings based on performance and reliability

Additional Details

• Independent Contractor (1099) position
• Part-time with the opportunity to grow your workload over time
• Visits are scheduled within a reasonable driving radius whenever possible
