Pet Waggin’ Pet Care is an award-winning, locally owned company serving the Long Beach community since 2006. We’re looking for caring, reliable individuals to join our professional team of Pet Care Professionals.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, staying active, and connecting with pets and their people.

About the Role

As a Pet Waggin’ Pet Care Professional, you’ll visit multiple client homes each day to provide trusted care for their pets while they’re at work or traveling. You’ll build relationships with both clients and their furry companions, ensuring every visit meets our high standards of care.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing dog walking, cat sitting, pet sitting, and enrichment visits for cats and dogs
• Feeding, refreshing water, administering medications, cleaning litter boxes, and ensuring pets’ comfort
• Following detailed care instructions and maintaining visit notes using our company software
• Communicating clearly and promptly with clients and management
• Observing pets for changes in health or behavior and responding appropriately
• Representing Pet Waggin’ with professionalism, compassion, and reliability

Scheduling & Availability (Important)

Our work is appointment-based rather than traditional shift work. Pet Care Professionals visit multiple client homes throughout the day, and schedules may include breaks between visits.

We are currently hiring for two service areas with the following availability requirements:

Belmont Shore Area
Tuesday–Friday: Available from 7:00 AM to at least 4:00 PM
Saturday: Available as needed (lighter schedule)

Bixby Knolls / Signal Hill Area
Tuesday & Saturday: Full availability during our service hours (7:00 AM – 8:00 PM)
Friday, Sunday & Monday: Available from 7:00 AM to at least 4:00 PM

In a perfect world, the ideal candidate has open availability on the days they work so visits can be scheduled as client needs arise.

Because visits are scheduled throughout the day, there may be breaks between appointments. You are only working and being paid during visits and travel time between visits.

Requirements

✅ Must live in Long Beach or Signal Hill
✅ Willing to work during holidays and busy travel seasons (Thanksgiving, Christmas, summer holidays)
✅ Have reliable transportation, a valid CA driver’s license, and auto insurance
✅ Comfortable working outdoors and in all weather conditions
✅ Able to walk and stand for extended periods, kneel, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs
✅ Love and experience caring for both cats and dogs (minimum 1 year of professional or volunteer pet care experience required)
✅ Must be 21+ years old and able to pass a background check per California Fair Chance Act
