Dog Walker/Pet Sitter

This position is not a summer gig. We are looking for a long term candidate.

This is a part-time contract (1099) position. The work hours and days may vary based on clients request and your availability. We are looking for someone available Monday through Friday, at least from 10 am to 1 pm. weekends and after hour flexibility is a plus. The pay is per walk basis. Job Overview: We are seeking a reliable, passionate, and friendly dog walker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for dogs, possess strong customer service skills, and be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of the dogs under their care.

Key Responsibilities:

Walking & Exercise: Safely walk dogs on their specified routes or designated areas

Using our online portal: clock in and out on our online portal, submit a journal after each walk and communicate with clients and manager

Safety: Always ensure the safety of the dogs under your care.

Basic Training: Reinforce basic obedience commands during walks.

Hygiene: Clean up after dogs during walks, disposing of waste properly.

Observation: Monitor dogs for any signs of discomfort or distress. Report any unusual behaviors or health concerns to the dog owner.

Schedule Adherence: Stick to the schedule provided by the company.

Flexibility: Adapt to different dog breeds and temperaments. Some dogs may require special attention or handling.

Inclement Weather: Be prepared to walk dogs in various weather conditions, ensuring both your safety and that of the dog. Use judgment in extreme conditions and communicate with dog owners about alternative plans.

driving: drive to the clients' location

Qualifications:

Monday through Friday availability. Weekend availability is a plus.

Be local to San Francisco

Previous experience in dog handling, pet sitting, or dog walking.

Knowledge of basic dog behaviors and needs.

Having reliable transportation to drive to clients location is a must and occasionally transporting dogs is a plus.

having a smartphone and data plan.

Ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Must be physically capable of walking for extended periods and handling dogs that might pull or be strong.

Clean background check.
