Domestic Gas Engineer

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Domestic Gas Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing gas appliances and systems within residential properties. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and practical skills in plumbing, carpentry, and the use of hand and power tools. The successful applicant will ensure compliance with safety standards and deliver high-quality service to our clients. All positions are paid, including internship opportunities for those starting their careers in the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Install, service, and repair domestic gas appliances such as boilers, cookers, and central heating systems
  • Conduct safety checks and ensure all work complies with current regulations and standards
  • Diagnose faults accurately using specialised tools and techniques
  • Perform plumbing tasks related to gas systems, including pipework installation and maintenance
  • Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and carpentry skills to complete tasks efficiently
  • Carry out heavy lifting of equipment or materials safely and effectively
  • Maintain detailed records of work carried out for client documentation and compliance purposes
  • Assist with the assembly of new appliances or systems as required
  • Ensure work sites are kept clean, organised, and safe at all times

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in domestic gas engineering or a related mechanical trade
  • Relevant qualifications such as ACS (Accredited Certification Scheme) certification for gas safety
  • Proficiency in welding, plumbing, carpentry, and the use of hand tools and power tools
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with an understanding of system components and troubleshooting techniques
  • Ability to perform basic maths accurately for measurements and calculations during installation or repairs
  • Experience with heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely
  • Valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving where necessary
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various domestic environments

Pay: £28,206.52-£38,334.52 per year
