Job Summary:

The Domestic Sales Engineer will be responsible for driving sales and business development in the assigned territory. The role includes generating leads, converting opportunities, managing customer relationships, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring timely execution of orders and payments.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Generation & Opportunity Management

  • Identify and generate sales leads from direct outreach, website inquiries, IndiaMART, exhibitions, tradeshows, social media, advertisements, market research, and employee referrals.

  • Conduct cold calls, personal visits, and handle inbound inquiries.

  • Understand customer requirements, qualify leads, and present company offerings.

  • Submit product samples and take technical approvals where needed.

  • Convert qualified leads into opportunities and manage RFQs.

  • Report lost opportunities to relevant stakeholders.

Customer Relationship & Support

  • Maintain and nurture relationships with existing customers.

  • Handle complaints and resolve issues promptly.

  • Seek regular customer feedback and implement improvements.

  • Support application and service teams with technical guidance when required.

Sales & Order Management

  • Understand customer technical and product requirements.

  • Update all leads, opportunities, and appointments in CRM.

  • Prepare and follow up on quotations and sales orders.

  • Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams for direct customer order execution.

  • Ensure timely payment collection as per PO terms.

Market Intelligence

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and new developments.

  • Gather insights to identify potential business opportunities.

  • Maintain awareness of industry updates to support sales strategy.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare daily visit schedules and update CRM with visit outcomes.

  • Claim travel expenses in CRM.

  • Attend quarterly review meetings to present performance metrics.

  • Track key performance indicators including leads generated, opportunity-to-win ratio, payments collected, customer complaints, satisfaction index, and market share.

Internal & External Communication

  • Collaborate with internal teams: Sales Head, Product Management, Application Engineers, Warehouse & Logistics, Customer Quality, and Product Engineering.

  • Interact with external stakeholders: customers, dealers, and trade partners for business development, networking, and support.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of the electronics industry and sales fundamentals.

  • Technical knowledge of products and processes.

  • Proficiency in CRM/ERP systems and MS Office.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer-focused approach.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple customer accounts.
