Job Summary

In this role, you will provide compassionate crisis intervention, emotional support, and practical assistance to individuals experiencing domestic violence. Your efforts will help create a safe environment for clients while guiding them through complex challenges related to safety planning, case management, and access to resources. Responsibilities
- Offer immediate crisis intervention and emotional support to survivors of domestic violence through active listening and empathetic communication
- Conduct intake assessments to gather essential client information and determine appropriate services and safety plans
- Assist clients with safety planning, including securing safe housing options and coordinating emergency responses when necessary
- Provide case management by connecting clients with community resources such as legal aid, healthcare, childcare, addiction counseling, and housing programs
- Document client interactions accurately through data entry, filing, and maintaining confidential case records
- Support clients with behavioral health needs by administering medication (if applicable), providing behavioral management strategies, and facilitating access to mental health services
- Collaborate with security personnel and law enforcement during incidents requiring additional safety measures or crisis management
- Supervise or coordinate with volunteers or junior staff members to ensure quality service delivery
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience in social work, crisis intervention, or related fields is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills with the ability to de-escalate conflicts and build trust with diverse populations
- Experience in crisis intervention, conflict management, and behavioral health practices
- Knowledge of child welfare, childcare services, and home & community care experience preferred
- Ability to perform intake assessments accurately while maintaining confidentiality
- Familiarity with data collection tools such as data entry systems and filing procedures for case documentation
- Certification or training in first aid and medication administration is a plus
- Understanding of addiction counseling principles and LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) programs is advantageous
