Position Summary:
This position is responsible for providing psychoeducational intervention groups to participants who have used abusive behaviors in their intimate, partnered relationships. Provide coordination of care through regular collateral and client contact. Provide regular progress reports to Probation Officers and Child Protection, as well as completion and termination reports. Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files, and case and group notes. Engage with professionalism, mutual respect, and compassion, with other systems’ representatives, including the Family Healing Team and interns, other Agency staff, and clients.
The Family Healing Program recognizes that Domestic Violence does not discriminate among those who are impacted, therefore implementing trauma-informed care and advocating for diverse services that promote equality, regardless of gender and sexual orientation, is a crucial aspect when responding to clients referred for domestic violence-related behaviors and/or are survivors of Domestic Violence.
Essential Job Functions of the Position:
Group Facilitation = 50%
- Facilitate groups of up to 12 participants, up to 5 groups per week. Provide psychoeducation and process with group members on week’s topic and facilitate discussion surrounding the topic and client’s experiences with another member of the Family Healing team.
- Meet with clients outside of group as needed.
- Distribute, assess, and collaborate with clients on required homework assignments
- Respond to the different stages of change that the clients are in, as they are all at different stages in the group.
- Work with the Youth and Family Programs Director and teams to continue the development of the Family Healing Program, based on the client needs and barriers seen in group sessions.
- Present on Domestic Violence and this program in the community to raise awareness.
Administrative and Program Development= 50%
- Coordinate care through regular collateral and client contact by providing approved progress reports to Parole Officers and Child Protection Services (CPS), including completion and termination reports.
- Collaborate with case manager to ensure successful handoff of clients starting groups, and connect group members with referrals to needed community supports and resources, to support their successful completion of the program and ongoing stability and wellbeing.
- Keep accurate statistical data and case records for groups and handle data entry of all group data, including case notes, Client Track and communication with the Criminal Justice System and CPS.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of program participants and their families.
- Assist with program evaluation
Other Job Duties:

- May serve on community task forces
- May supervise interns if applicable
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Education / Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field
- Bilingual or multilingual skills – Preferred
Experience:
- Experience and understanding of working with domestic violence and victimization and associated professional standards and practices.
- Ability to apply and teach foundational domestic violence intervention concepts, including boundaries, consent, accountability, trauma, power and control, emotional regulation, and healthy relationship dynamics, in a group setting.
- Experience with group facilitation and program development.
- A demonstrated progression in educational and professional experiences and commitment to ongoing professional development and practice.
- Ability to contribute to an inclusive professional environment for staff, clients, and volunteers.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, Zoom Meeting software, other general computer skills
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
- Must be available to work evenings (Generally: until 8:30pm Mondays, 7:30pm Tuesdays and Wednesdays)
- Must be available for group sessions in person or virtual during the day and evening, determined by program coordinator.
- Must be comfortable working with clients who have perpetrated Domestic Violence.
- Demonstrate strong professionalism during team calls and participant sessions.
- Clear and assertive communication skills, in both oral and written forms.
- Commitment to fostering an open and safe group setting for participants
- Ability to work in a collaborative and coordinated effort.
- Ability to self-start, effectively problem-solve, and follow through to completion in a timely manner.
- Ability to set limits on personal and professional boundaries.
- Ability to handle confidential information appropriately and legally.
