Motherhood Center is Houston’s trusted resource for expectant and new families for over 26 years. We offer a wide range of services including doula care, lactation consulting, parenting education, massage, yoga, and childcare placement.

Summary
We are hiring Postpartum Doulas and Newborn Care Specialists to support families during the postpartum period. This role involves in-home care, providing physical and emotional support to new mothers, and assisting with newborn care. Your expertise will help create a nurturing environment that empowers families during this transformative time.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on care for newborns
• Support new parents with feeding (breast/bottle), diapering, and sleep routines
• Educate families on newborn care best practices
• Offer guidance on breastfeeding and postpartum recovery.
• Offer emotional support and reassurance to new parents
• Assist with light household tasks (baby laundry, tidying nursery)
• Maintain a respectful, non-judgmental approach to each family's preferences

Qualifications

• Current and valid Postpartum Doula Certification
• 3 years experience working with newborns (personal and/or professional)
• Certification as a Doula or Newborn Care Specialist is a plus
• Knowledge of newborn to infant development and postpartum recovery
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassionate, calm, and dependable personality
• Flexible availability (overnight and/or daytime shifts)

Work Setting

• In-home care (you must be willing to travel to clients' homes in the Houston area)
• Shifts range from 8 to 12 hours
• Opportunities for a flexible schedule
