Draft Surveyor

We are seeking an experienced Draft Surveyor to perform accurate draft surveys for bulk cargo vessels and ensure compliance with international standards and client requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work in port environments under time constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct draft surveys on vessels to determine cargo weight and displacement.
• Take precise draft readings and calculate corrections for trim, list, and water density.
• Prepare and submit accurate draft survey reports to clients and authorities.
• Verify vessel documentation and reconcile discrepancies.
• Communicate effectively with ship captains, port officials, and clients.
• Ensure compliance with IMO regulations and port authority requirements.
• Maintain safety standards while boarding and working on vessels.
• Use appropriate tools and software for calculations and reporting.

Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in conducting draft surveys for bulk carriers or similar vessels.
• Strong understanding of displacement calculations and cargo measurement principles.
• Familiarity with international maritime regulations and port procedures.
• Proficient in MS Excel and draft survey software.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in challenging port conditions and flexible hours.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with other marine surveys (e.g., bunker surveys, on/off-hire surveys).
• Knowledge of cargo operations and shipping documentation.
• UAE port experience is an advantage.
