Job Overview

Greenhem Inc., a leader in green construction technologies and eco-friendly building solutions, is seeking a Drafter / Residential Building Designer to strengthen our Green Building Design Core. You’ll be part of a forward-thinking team transforming innovative sustainable design concepts into detailed residential and light-commercial plans for projects in Moore County and beyond.

Position Overview

As a Residential Drafter / Architectural Drafter, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of sustainable construction. You’ll produce accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings and technical documentation in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar BIM software. This role focuses on design support and collaboration — you will work closely with licensed professionals, contractors, and project managers to deliver impactful, eco-friendly solutions that meet advanced LEED and green building standards.

Responsibilities

• Create precise CAD drawings and construction documents for residential projects.
• Develop 2D plans and 3D models to guide contractors and licensed architects/engineers.
• Collaborate with contractors, project managers, and licensed architects.
• Ensure compliance with North Carolina building codes and sustainable design standards.
• Revise and refine plans based on client feedback, project requirements, and sustainability goals.
• Support the integration of LEED / eco-friendly practices into every project.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or comparable CAD/BIM software.
• Knowledge of residential construction and building design practices.
• Understanding of sustainable / green building principles (LEED knowledge is a plus).
• Detail-oriented, with strong time management and organizational skills.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in drafting, residential design, or related field preferred.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external professionals.

Preferred Certifications

• Certified Professional Building Designer (CPBD) through AIBD (or willingness to obtain).
• LEED Green Associate (option to advance to LEED AP BD+C).
• Industry-recognized CAD / BIM certificates.
