Job Summary

We are seeking a versatile and experienced Draftsman who combines technical design skills with commercial estimation capabilities. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of experience and is proficient in both engineering software (AutoCAD) and graphic design suites (CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator, PS). You will be responsible for preparing detailed shop drawings, creating visual mockups for clients, and generating accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and project estimates.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Drafting (AutoCAD)

• Prepare detailed 2D/3D shop drawings, plans, and elevations for steel fabrication and signage projects.
• Convert site measurements into accurate production drawings for the workshop team.
• Ensure all drawings comply with local standards and engineering specifications.

2. Graphic Design & Visualization

• Use CorelDRAW and Adobe Illustrator to create vector files for laser cutting, CNC routing, and vinyl plotting.
• Create high-quality visual renders and mockups using Adobe Photoshop (PS) to show clients how the final product will look.
• Prepare artwork for large-format printing and signage layouts.

3. Estimation & Quantity Surveying (QS)

• Calculate material take-offs from drawings to determine the exact quantity of steel, acrylic, LEDs, and consumables required.
• Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for client tenders and internal cost control.
• Conduct Project Estimation by analyzing material costs, labor time, and wastage to provide accurate price quotes.

4. Coordination & Documentation

• Maintain an organized digital library of project files, revisions, and approved drawings.
• Coordinate with the Production Supervisor to ensure designs are feasible for manufacturing.
• Assist in preparing material requisitions based on the approved BOQ.

Requirements & Qualifications

Essential Skills:

• Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of proven experience as a Draftsman, Estimator, or QS in the Fabrication/Signage industry.
• Engineering Software: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D).
• Design Software: Strong command of CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop.
• Commercial Skills: Expert knowledge in Project Estimation, Costing, and preparation of QS/BOQ documents.
• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of material properties (Steel, Acrylic, Aluminum) and production processes (Laser cutting, Bending, Welding).

Certifications:

• Preferred: Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Graphic Design.
• Bonus: Certification in Quantity Surveying or Cost Estimation.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
• Occasional site visits for taking measurements and surveying.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: QAR 3,500.00 – 5,000.00 per month (Based on software speed and estimation accuracy).
• Accommodation: Company Provided Housing.

• Travel: Return Economy Class Air Ticket (Every 2 years or as per policy).
• Medical: Private Medical Insurance (as per Qatar Labor Law).
• Schedule: Saturday – Thursday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
