Role Overview
The Theatre and Drama Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging drama sessions, fostering creativity, and developing students’ confidence, communication, and performance skills. The teacher will guide students through acting techniques, theatre appreciation, stagecraft, and school productions while aligning with CBSE curriculum expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver structured theatre and drama lessons based on CBSE guidelines and school curriculum.
- Teach acting techniques, voice modulation, body language, stage presence, improvisation, and script interpretation.
- Conduct practice sessions, theatre games, and creative exercises to enhance expression and imagination.
- Integrate drama activities into classroom teaching to support holistic education.
- Prepare students for assemblies, school functions, competitions, and annual day performances.
Production & Performance
- Direct and coordinate school plays, skits, dance dramas, and musical theatre events.
- Manage auditions, rehearsals, costumes, props, stage design, and backstage coordination.
- Collaborate with music, dance, and art teachers for interdisciplinary performances.
Student Development
- Identify students’ strengths and provide constructive feedback to improve acting and performance abilities.
- Encourage teamwork, discipline, confidence, and creativity through theatre activities.
- Provide opportunities for students to participate in inter-school drama competitions and cultural events.
Classroom & Administrative Duties
- Maintain lesson plans, attendance records, and student progress reports.
- Ensure discipline, safety, and active participation during all sessions.
- Handle period substitutions, duties, and responsibilities assigned by the school.
- Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher meetings, and school events.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Theatre Arts / Performing Arts / Drama / Fine Arts (preferred).
- Certification or professional training in acting, theatre direction, or dramatic arts.
- Prior experience teaching drama/theatre in schools or institutions (CBSE experience preferred).
- Strong communication skills, stage management knowledge, and creative teaching methodologies.
- Ability to work with students of different age groups.
- Passionate, energetic, and able to inspire students through performing arts.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
