Draughtsman – Mechanical/Piping

Role Overview

We are looking for a meticulous and skilled Draftsman to join our engineering team. You will play a crucial role in translating engineering designs into detailed, accurate, and construction-ready technical drawings for our custom-built equipment and complex utility projects. You will work closely with our engineers and project managers to create the documentation that ensures our projects are delivered with the highest quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create Detailed Drawings: Develop precise 2D and 3D CAD models and detailed fabrication drawings for custom gas and chemical handling equipment, piping systems, and support structures.
  • P&ID & ISOmetric Development: Produce and update Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs & ISO’s) based on engineering inputs for hazardous and ultra-high pure utilities.
  • Layouts & Schematics: Prepare general arrangement drawings, isometric views, and detailed shop drawings for clean room tools, orbital welding setups, and plastic welding assemblies.
  • Bill of Materials (BOM): Generate accurate BOMs from drawings to assist in procurement and cost estimation.
  • Revision Control: Manage drawing revisions and documentation meticulously, adhering to project and quality management protocols.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with design engineers to ensure designs are optimized for fabrication, assembly, and safety standards.
  • Site Support: Occasionally visit project sites or fabrication facilities to perform as-built surveys and support installation teams by clarifying drawing details.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering, Draftsmanship, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the industrial gas, chemical, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or similar process industry.
  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Expert knowledge of AutoCAD is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, or Revit) is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with creating and interpreting P&IDs.
  • Understanding of piping and instrumentation symbols and standards.
  • Knowledge of materials (like stainless steel for UHP gases and plastics for corrosive chemicals) is a plus.
  • Key Attributes:
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, as our work involves hazardous materials.
  • Ability to understand and visualize complex engineering concepts.
  • Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with engineers and fabrication teams.
  • A proactive approach to learning about new technologies and safety standards.
  • Willingness to travel & stay at site to meet out On-time deliverables.
  • Frequent Travelling to Site

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
