We are seeking a technically skilled and 3-7 years experienced Drilling, Mechanical & Hydraulic Engineer to support the execution of SPS and Reactivation Projects for offshore drilling assets. The role involves cross-disciplinary engineering, inspection follow-up, troubleshooting, refurbishment, repair, and testing of drilling equipment and associated mechanical/hydraulic systems to ensure asset readiness, regulatory compliance, and operational reliability.

Our SPS project is in Zonguldak, Çaycuma and reactivation is offshore and Filyos and Mersin Taşucu ports.


Key Responsibilities


Project Execution:

  • Contribute based on Project Manager delegation in planning, preparation, and execution of SPS and Reactivation scopes related to drilling, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • Review/understand class and OEM requirements and prepare technical input for work packs, refurbishment scope, and inspection test plans (ITPs).
  • Understand with OEMs, vendors, and service providers during disassembly, overhaul, and reassembly activities.
  • Understand integration of hydraulic and mechanical modifications or upgrades during the project lifecycle.

Equipment Scope:

  • Support works on major drilling equipment (Top Drive, Draw Works, Iron Roughneck, BOP Handling Systems, etc.).
  • Based on SME’s works involving jacking systems, pipe handling, hoisting and rotary equipment, well control equipment, and auxiliary mechanical systems.
  • Provide oversight for refurbishment and reassembly of hydraulic power units (HPUs), control manifolds, accumulators, and mechanical actuation systems.

Inspection & Testing:

  • Ensure inspections (NDT, function, pressure, load tests) are performed per IACS/Class, OEM, and internal requirements.
  • Verify correct completion of flushing, hydrotesting, and calibration activities.
  • Witness FAT/SAT (Factory/ Site Acceptance Tests) of critical equipment where required.

Technical Coordination:

  • Interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, hydraulic schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Coordinate between project planning, QA/QC, commissioning, and asset teams to align work execution and documentation.
  • Develop or review technical documentation including punch lists, test protocols, and redline drawings.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Ensure traceability of all engineering activities through work reports, material traceability logs, and punch closure documentation.
  • Support preparation of equipment condition assessment reports and final close-out packages for classification society and client handover.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 3-7+ years of relevant experience in offshore drilling industry or marine operations, preferably with exposure to SPS, stacking/reactivation, or shipyard projects.
  • Solid technical knowledge of drilling equipment (NOV, Cameron, Hydril, etc.) and hydraulic/mechanical systems used on MODUs.
  • Familiarity with class society and flag state requirements related to special surveys and reactivations.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair practices.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, hydraulic/pneumatic schematics, and OEM manuals.
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary project teams and in dynamic field environments (offshore/yard).
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
