Drilling Rig Foreman

We are seeking a highly experienced Drilling Foreman to supervise daily operations of land-based Drilling and Workover rigs for deep and technically critical wells ranging between 18,000 - 23,000 feet. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring all rig activities are conducted in a safe, efficient, and contract-compliant manner, while acting as the primary liaison between the company and rig contractors.

The position requires extensive coordination with logistics, engineering teams, and service providers to ensure uninterrupted rig operations in alignment with company operational and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and oversee daily rig operations and all associated well activities.
  • Ensure full compliance with company safety standards and Blowout Prevention (BOP) requirements.
  • Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with contract terms and operational best practices.
  • Coordinate timely delivery of well materials and equipment to prevent non-productive time.
  • Recommend alternative methods or equipment when encountering unusual downhole conditions.
  • Collaborate with Drilling and Workover Engineers to implement modern drilling technologies and practices.
  • Approve and verify contractor's daily tour reports and performance documentation.
  • Ensure rig equipment and systems are properly maintained to minimize downtime.
  • Administer rig site contracts and ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled.
  • Enforce proper response procedures for BOP and emergency scenarios.
  • Execute other duties as assigned by the Drilling Superintendent.

Qualifications & Experience:

Option A:

  • Minimum of 13 years of relevant experience in drilling and workover operations, including supervisory roles typically acquired through rig progression.

Option B:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in drilling and workover operations, including adequate supervisory exposure on rigs.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness and ability to live and work in remote field locations in mobile camp environments.
  • Proven knowledge of modern drilling and workover practices, equipment, and well control techniques.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
