Position Summary:
The Driver will be responsible for safely transporting staff, materials, and documents as needed by the organization. The role requires strict adherence to traffic laws, organizational policies, and a high level of professionalism. The driver may also assist with logistical support, vehicle maintenance, and basic administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate NGO vehicles for the transportation of staff, visitors, and goods.
- Maintain vehicle logs, including mileage, fuel consumption, and trip reports.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on vehicles and report any issues promptly.
- Ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, and roadworthy at all times.
- Assist in loading and unloading of goods, supplies, and equipment.
- Follow all safety and traffic regulations.
- Support logistical tasks such as delivery and collection of documents, parcels, and equipment.
- Ensure the security of the vehicle and passengers during all trips.
- Adhere to NGO’s vehicle use policy and procedures.
- Report accidents or incidents immediately to the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum [2–5] years of professional driving experience, preferably with an NGO or international organization.
- Knowledge of local roads, routes, and traffic regulations.
- Basic mechanical skills for vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if required.
- Reliable, honest, and respectful attitude.
