Driver

The Driver will safely operate vehicles such as vans, box trucks, or other non-CDL vehicles to transport goods and ensure the timely delivery and unloading of merchandise to customer locations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Operate and navigate commercial delivery vehicle (GVWR 10,000-26,000 lbs)

2. Follow schedules and use navigation apps to plan each route based on road and traffic conditions.

3. Load and unload merchandise for customers on local deliveries.

4. Handle boxes, containers, packages of various weights and sizes.

5. Maintain merchandise resale value and quality by protecting it from damage.

6. Maintain vehicle and work areas in clean, orderly and safe condition.

7. Performs vehicle maintenance checks and arranges regular cleaning and maintenance services for the vehicle. Reports any mechanical and operational issues to management.

8. Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic laws and company policies.

9. Proper completion of regulatory and administrative forms and reports relating to vehicle operation.

10. Report damaged/missing product to supervisor or Branch Manager.

11. Interacts with customers in a professional manner and provides whatever customer assistance is appropriate under the circumstances and according to company policies.

12. When not making deliveries, assist in the warehouse as needed.

13. All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years prior warehouse, delivery and forklift experience preferred. Candidate must be organized, detail orientated and able to work as part of a team. Must be over the age of 21 and possess a clean driving record, medical card and/or the ability to maintain one, and depending on the state either a License for Hire, Chauffer’s license or Class C license. Must be certified in operating a forklift.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift, carry and move up to 50 lbs repetitively for 8 hours

• Ability to operate and navigate commercial delivery vehicle (GVWR 10,000 - 26,000 lbs)

• May be required to sit for long periods of time.

• May engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching, pushing and pulling of merchandise, products and materials.

• Consistently follows procedures and adheres to standards

• Must be able to understand and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form and follow directions.

• Must be able to communicate

• Ability to understand product codes and terminology

• Ability to use hand tools to open boxes or containers

• Operate RF scanner

• Operate a pallet jack

• Operate a forklift

• Operate a commercial delivery vehicle

• Adhere safety regulations and standards and practices safe driving habits

• Ability to meet the attendance standards

Working Conditions:

Due to the open warehouse environment, must be able to work in various indoor climatic conditions including heat, humidity and cold. Maneuvers in small areas and/or around various objects.
