Driver / Art Handler

Job Description

The Packengers is hiring a Driver / Art Handler to support our growing logistics operations in Edison, NJ. This role involves the safe transportation, handling, and delivery of fine art, furniture, and high-value items. Candidates should be detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable providing white-glove service.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive company vehicles (box trucks/cargo vans) for local and regional deliveries
• Load, unload, and handle artwork and high-value items with care
• Pack and protect items using blankets, foam, straps, and other materials
• Perform condition checks and take photos before and after handling on our internal application
• Ensure items are properly secured during transport
• Communicate with dispatch regarding routes and delivery updates
• Ensure accurate completion and handling of Bills of Lading (BOLs) and delivery paperwork for daily routes
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles and work areas
• Follow all safety protocols and handling procedures

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Experience driving box trucks or similar vehicles
• Ability to lift 50–100+ lbs (team lift when required)
• Strong attention to detail and care with fragile items
• Professional and reliable with good communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in art handling, moving, or white-glove delivery
• Familiarity with packing, crating, or installation work (not required)
• Experience working with galleries, auction houses, or designers (not required)

Schedule

• Full-time
• Monday–Friday with occasional overtime or weekend work based on demand
