Driver Lead, Class A CDL Summary

Full-time | Monday-Friday | 1st shift, 6:00am - 2:30pm or until completion | Home Daily |

The Driver Lead role is responsible for overseeing the drivers to ensure all processes are completed properly on a daily basis. This includes but is not limited to payroll, maintenance, driver issues and shipping processes. This is a hands-on position that will work with the team and lead by example. This position will also work closely with the Operations Manager to address any issues within the team or processes.

Driver Lead Requirements

• Current Class A CDL Operator’s License
• 1-3 years (preferably 100,000 miles) previous driving experience
• Able to pass both pre-employment and random drug tests as required by the DOT
• Able to pass driving history and background check process
• Possess a Federal Medical Card

Essential Duties and Responsibilites

• Main point of contact between the drivers and the transportation coordinator for all transportation/shipping issues
• Maintain/Process drivers payroll and coordination of vacation
• Responsible for hiring drivers/backup drivers
• Hire all temp drivers when needed
• Approves driver expense reports
• Input and maintain maintenance records for all tractor/trailer equipment
• Coordinate planned and unplanned maintenance of all tractor/trailer equipment
• Coordinate driver drug tests
• Train new drivers and administer road tests
• Coach drivers and administer write-ups
