Driver- Non Emergency Transportation

First Response EMS NEMT units provide transportation services for the elderly, disabled, handicapped and wheelchair-bound clients assisting in travel throughout Michigan including Wayne, and Oakland County.

Position Summary

Non-emergency medical transportation deals with the transportation of individuals, generally the elderly and disabled, who are not in an emergency situation but need more assistance than a taxi service provides. A First Response NEMT will typically transport individuals who are confined too a wheelchair or patients who can walk but are impaired in some way such as the use of a cane, walker, or simply need some form of additional assistance in getting from Point A to Point B.

Basic requirements drivers must have:

• Possess a MI driver's license
• Be licensed as Chauffeur drivers (preferred)
• Have a clean driving record
• Have experience chauffeuring passengers (preferred)

• Employee Health Screenings to determine physical aptitude before actively performing job duties.
• Employment Background Checks to investigate work history & experience
• Criminal Background checks including a check for inclusion in the National Sex Offender Registry
• Drug and Alcohol screenings
• A review of the applicant's driving record for points and serious offenses.

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
