Driver Operations & Safety Coordinator

We are looking for a highly organized and safety-focused Driver Operations & Safety Coordinator to support a dynamic vehicle testing program. In this role, you will play a critical part in coordinating drivers, ensuring safe operations, and helping deliver high-quality testing results across a variety of real-world driving environments.

This is not a traditional desk job. You will be equally comfortable managing schedules and data as you are working directly with drivers, riding along on routes, and stepping in to support the team when needed. What You’ll DoOperations & Scheduling

  • Create, manage, and adjust driver and vehicle schedules to meet testing objectives
  • Coordinate daily assignments including routes, drivers, and locations
  • Adapt quickly to changes such as weather, driver availability, or test priorities

Safety Leadership

  • Lead daily safety check-ins with drivers prior to shift start
  • Monitor weather and road conditions and adjust plans proactively
  • Conduct route risk assessments and continuously improve route safety
  • Track, analyze, and report near-misses; implement improvements to reduce risk
  • Review in-vehicle camera footage and coach drivers on safe driving practices

Driver Coaching & Training

  • Train new drivers on processes, systems, and safe driving expectations
  • Deliver safety training and continuously improve materials based on field feedback
  • Coach and audit driver performance to ensure consistent safety standards
  • Support development of drivers over time through hands-on guidance

Hands-On Field Support

  • Ride along with drivers to understand routes, conditions, and risks
  • Occasionally step in to drive routes when needed to support the team
  • Participate in route validation and real-world testing activities
  • Travel to various locations to assess and prepare new test routes

Administrative & Technical Support

  • Prepare and deliver presentations for safety meetings and trip kick-offs
  • Maintain accurate records using internal systems and databases
  • Manage equipment including tablets, cameras, and related hardware
  • Support travel coordination for drivers when required

What We’re Looking ForCore Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Valid driver’s license with a strong record of safe driving
  • Ability to demonstrate and coach safe driving behaviors
  • Experience coordinating schedules, people, or operations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Additional Details

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Occasional overtime (5–10% annually)
  • Travel approximately 5 times per year (up to one week at a time)
  • Travel locations may include Colorado, California, Minnesota, Nevada, Arizona, Pennsylvania, and other regions

Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
