Driver Recruiter

Phoenix Management Solutions delivers shared administrative support services to a nationwide network of intermodal transportation carriers and a leading transportation brokerage firm. We are hiring a Driver Recruiter for our San Antonio, TX office or remote work for the right candidate.

The Driver Recruiter is responsible for contacting potential Independent Contractor CDL Drivers who express interest in onboarding with one of our motor carriers managed by Phoenix Management Solutions, LLC. Driver Recruiters answer any questions of the potential contractor, pre-screening contractor qualifications based on DOT, FMCSA and motor carrier requirements.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Source, attract, and recruit CDL-A Company Drivers and Owner-Operators through job boards, lead providers, social media, and referral networks.

· Conduct initial driver qualification screenings including experience verification, driving history, and eligibility requirements.

  • Present driver opportunities across multiple motor carriers and operating divisions to match candidates with the best fit.
  • Maintain consistent communication with driver applicants throughout the recruiting process.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of candidate status within the ATS system.
  • Educate candidates on pay packages, home time, equipment, and operational expectations.
  • Review driver applications for compliance with FMCSA and company hiring standards.
  • Verify required experience, employment history, and CDL credentials.
  • Identify disqualifying factors including safety history, MVR concerns, or employment gaps.
  • Manage a high-volume recruiting pipeline from lead to orientation.
  • Work closely with driver processors, safety departments, and terminal managers to ensure smooth onboarding.
  • Track recruiting metrics including call volume, qualified applicants, and hires.
  • Stay current on driver market conditions, compensation trends, and recruiting best practices.
  • Promote opportunities for intermodal, local, regional, and OTR operations depending on company needs.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Working knowledge of FMCSA requirements pertaining to hiring CDL Drivers

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to read and write English

· Strong attention to detail

· Excellent computer skills, including MS Word and MS Excel, will be trained on proprietary software, where applicable

· Excellent organizational skills while handling multiple priorities and tasks

· Tenstreet Experience a plus, not required

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent is required

· Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in transportation and/or logistics required

· Prior experience working with a multi-state employer a plus

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk while working on a computer or speaking with driver contractors via telephone, Zoom, MS Teams, and in person, where applicable.

· Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. without assistance as part of the regular duties of the position.

· Must be able to periodically walk upstairs, stand, bend, and stoop while reaching for contractor files.

· Demonstrated ability to stay focused in a fast paced, sometimes noisy work environment.

Phoenix Management Solutions provides shared administrative support services to over eight intermodal transportation carriers across the US. We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Driver Recruiter to join our Driver Recruiter and Retention team for our office in San Antonio, Texas, or remote work for the right candidate.

This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position with full health insurance after 30-day waiting period, 401k retirement plan after six months, and PTO of up to 2 weeks in the first calendar year (pro-rated).

Expected hours: 40 per week
