Primary Function

The Driver Services Manager is responsible for supervising a team of Driver Services associates. The Driver Services Manager oversees the onboarding process of company drivers from the recruiting stages throughout the employment cycle. The Driver Services Manager actively builds and maintains relationships with company drivers to reduce turnover and increase driver satisfaction. The Driver Services Manager will work with other departments to ensure the driver’s experience is as positive as possible.

Description

  • Manage and coordinate task within the Driver Services department to insure maintenance of efficient, accurate and secure data.
  • External Partnerships: Effectively manages relationships and projects with outside vendors, agencies and consultants supporting driver services projects.
  • Event Coordination: Supports the execution of events and meetings such as driver appreciation, cookouts, and special events.
  • Communications: Responsible for communication with company driver fleet in compliance with management guidelines.
  • Respond to and act on various inquiries from drivers – phone calls, emails, etc – helping to solve or answer any questions or issues they may be experiencing.
  • Work with other departments as necessary to help solve any problems or issues for the driver.
  • Coordinate and ensure completion of road tests for new hires.
  • Manage and coordinate hotel and transportation assignments and be a liaison when issues arise.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or as needed.

Skills

  • Capability to manage multiple projects under tight and sometimes competing deadlines with the flexibility to quickly shift gears when needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with multiple internal teammates and co-workers at all levels.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to do what it takes to deliver exceptional results.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and diplomacy when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Knowledge and understanding of DOT regulations and federal and state employment law
  • AS400/Innovative Transportation Software experience.
  • Must possess working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Skills

  • Previous experience working in the transportation industry
  • Previous experience working with professional drivers
  • Truck driving experience is a plus

Education Required

  • High school diploma or GED
