Driver/Warehouse Operative

Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and proactive driver/ Warehouse Worker to join our growing team at the World Freight Terminal, Manchester Airport.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in the efficient management of warehouse operations, ensuring the safe handling, storage, and distribution of goods. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience to develop their skills within a supportive environment. The role involves working in a fast-paced setting, contributing to the smooth flow of materials and products throughout the supply chain.

Duties

• Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment, including forklifts where qualified. Fork lift truck license preferred but not essential, as full training will be given.
• Deliveries/collections
• Vehicle checks
• Handle materials safely and efficiently, adhering to health and safety regulations
• Perform materials handling tasks, ensuring items are stored correctly and safely within the warehouse
• Strong physical fitness for heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking during shifts.
• Conduct basic equipment repairs and maintenance to ensure operational efficiency

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a warehouse environment is highly desirable
• Experience operating forklifts or other lifting equipment preferred, but not essential as full training will be given.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic repair skills are beneficial
• Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and efficiently
• Good organisational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a physically demanding environment
