Salary Range: $15.00 - $16.00
Hours: Various Hours based on the needs of the facility including weekends
JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the General Manager and Driving Range Manager, is responsible for selling range balls, answering phones, general upkeep of the driving range, and cleaning and retrieval of range balls.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Answering phones in a polite manner
- Basic computer skills essential to running Golf Now point of sale system
- Operation of driving range utility vehicle to retrieve range balls from the field
- Hand retrieval of golf balls from the field and tee area when the facility is closed.
- Upkeep of Grass tee area including rotation of hitting stations and filling and repairing of tees with seed mixture
- Maintaining and cleaning of range balls through use of electric golf ball washers.
- Cleanliness and upkeep of the Driving Range
- Good math and cash handling skills
- CPR and First Aid certified-training conducted by the Elk Grove Park District.
- Performs the job safely and in compliance with district policies, procedures, work and safety rules.
- Be familiar with the safe operation of any equipment necessary in accomplishing required tasks.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assist with set up for junior and adult golf lessons and assist with any private rentals that may take place at the driving range.
- Assist with any other duties that may be assigned.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS
- General work area is indoors, in a smoke-free environment with controlled temperature and fluorescent lighting.
- Infrequent exposure to cleaning materials and office supplies (e.g., copier toner).
- Manual dexterity required for frequent manipulation of trade tools.
- Must work closely with co-workers.
- Must work around the general population.
- Physical agility to maintain mobility from site to site.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Subject to modified/flexible work schedule including nights and weekends.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent organizational and communication skills required.
- Ability to demonstrate effective decision making and problem solving skills.
- Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions.
- Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees.
- Must possess a valid drivers license
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Knowledge, skills and abilities equivalent to at least 2 years experience in a pro shop environment, Must posses a strong understanding of the game of golf including rules, pace of play, and equipment.
