Drone Pilot/Video Editor

Key Responsibilities

Drone Operations & Capture

Operate drones safely and efficiently while strictly adhering to FAA Part 107 regulations and airspace requirements.

Conduct pre-flight planning, airspace authorization checks, and on-site safety assessments.

Capture high-quality aerial photo and video content for commercial clients, marketing campaigns, events, inspections, and promotional projects.

Execute creative flight paths and cinematic shots aligned with client objectives and brand standards.

Photo & Video Production

Edit raw aerial and ground footage into polished, engaging video content.

Perform professional photo editing, color correction, and image enhancement.

Deliver final assets optimized for web, social media, marketing, and commercial use.

Maintain consistent visual storytelling and production quality aligned with GQ Drone Services standards.

Post-Production & Creative Collaboration

Utilize industry-standard editing platforms including at least 1 of the following:

DaVinci Resolve 19 +

Adobe Premiere Pro

Final Cut Pro

Avid Media Composer

Enhance visuals using:

Luminar Neo

Adobe Lightroom

Photoshop

Affinity Photo

Capture One

Organize and manage digital assets for efficient workflow and client delivery.

Collaborate on creative concepts, shot lists, and storytelling approaches when required.

Required Qualifications

Valid FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (Required/Or if applying for video & photo editing, the license does not apply to those).

Demonstrated experience operating drones for commercial photography or videography.

Strong portfolio showcasing aerial photo and video work.

Proficiency in professional video editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or similar).

Experience with photo editing and post-production workflows.

Knowledge of camera settings, composition, lighting, and cinematic techniques.

Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects.

Reliable transportation and ability to travel to project locations.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with real estate, construction progress tracking, or commercial marketing content.

Motion graphics or animation experience.

Knowledge of advanced drone platforms and camera systems.

Own professional drone equipment meeting commercial production standards.

FAA waivers or advanced operational experience (night operations, controlled airspace, etc.).

Equipment Expectations

Contract pilots are preferred to provide:

FAA-compliant drone(s) suitable for professional photo/video capture

Backup batteries and flight equipment

Editing workstation capable of professional media production

Proper insurance coverage (preferred but not required depending on project)

We are looking for those in construction mapping as well, DTM DSM Topo maps data collection and processing. Thermal aerial inspections and NDVI agricultural crop monitoring.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $25.00 - $80.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 5 per week

Work Location: In person
