Drum Teacher

DRUM / PERCUSSION TEACHER WANTED

LOCATION: Ardsley, NY

P/T Hours Available M-F, 3:00pm-7:30pm, Sat 9:00am-2:00pm, starting April 2024

Pay: $40/hour for direct instruction

Teacher Qualities:

You are a terrific drummer, have played in bands and you have great energy. You inspire others to dance, to sing, or to take the stage themselves. You are not a “closet virtuoso,” and truly understand the joy of musical collaboration. You have tremendous patience, enjoy teaching music, and take great pride in your students’ accomplishments. You must love kids and want to teach a wide swath of pop/rock music-- from Adele to AC/DC, to Elton John, to the Weekend, to the Beatles, to Prince, to 21 Pilots, to Beyonce, etc.…You relish the idea of prepping a group of kids from scratch to performance-ready!

Teacher Experience

• MUST be 21 years of age or older and have excellent references
• A degree in music performance, or degree in progress, or commensurate experience is required (You have "played out" at a high level in pop/rock bands for at least 2 years.)
• Must be highly skilled on drums and have good knowledge of beats and samples.
• Desired: good skill on electric bass
• Comfortable piecing together resources from YouTube, etc. to create pop /rock arrangements accessible to beginners.
• Must value and be good at communication with students.
