Dry Van Dispatcher

Job Overview

One Ummah Logistics LLC is looking for an experienced Dry Van Dispatcher to work from our Cincinnati, Ohio office. This position is for a dispatcher who knows how to manage drivers, build strong schedules, plan loads, communicate with customers and brokers, and keep trucks moving efficiently.

The ideal candidate must have real dry van dispatch experience and understand how to manage driver schedules, appointment times, paperwork flow, check calls, and day-to-day communication. You will have support from a track-and-trace department for paperwork and updates, plus a driver manager to assist with driver scheduling and driver communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispatch dry van drivers and manage daily load planning.
  • Build and maintain driver schedules based on hours of service, delivery appointments, home time, and customer needs.
  • Book and cover freight while protecting company revenue and service quality.
  • Communicate with drivers, brokers, shippers, receivers, and internal team members.
  • Coordinate with the track-and-trace department for updates, paperwork, PODs, and load status.
  • Work with the driver manager to keep schedules organized and reduce service failures.
  • Monitor pickup and delivery appointments and prevent late deliveries.
  • Plan ahead to reduce empty miles and improve weekly gross revenue.
  • Track load details, rates, lanes, appointment times, and driver availability.
  • Escalate service issues quickly and professionally when problems happen.

Required Qualifications

  • Dry van dispatch experience is required.
  • Experience dispatching semi-trucks in the trucking industry.
  • Strong understanding of driver schedules, HOS, pickup/delivery appointments, and load planning.
  • Ability to manage multiple drivers and loads at the same time.
  • Strong communication skills with drivers, brokers, shippers, and receivers.
  • Must be organized, reliable, and able to work in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Must understand how to maximize gross revenue while protecting driver schedules and service quality.
  • Computer and transportation management system experience preferred.

Compensation

This position pays 3% of gross revenue. A strong dispatcher can make approximately $2,200 to $2,800+ weekly, depending on fleet volume, performance, revenue produced, and company targets.

Support Structure

  • Track-and-trace department support for paperwork, updates, PODs, and load status.
  • Driver manager support for driver scheduling and driver communication.
  • Office-based role in Cincinnati, Ohio with operational support from management.
