Position Overview

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you’ll help promote independence and meaningful engagement by assisting with personal care, household tasks, and community activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care: bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene
• Perform light housekeeping and laundry to maintain a safe, clean environment
• Prepare and serve meals/snacks; assist with grocery shopping and meal planning
• Provide transportation and accompany the individual to medical appointments and community outings (movies, mall, swimming, etc.)
• Support self-administration of medication
• Document daily services using a computer
• Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the social well-being of clients.
• Monitor and document client progress and changes in condition, reporting any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
• Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's unique needs, particularly focusing on dementia care and memory support.
• Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function and social interaction.
• Ensure a safe and clean environment for clients by maintaining hygiene standards and adhering to safety protocols.
• Collaborate with families, healthcare providers, and social workers to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Reliable, compassionate, and respectful of individual needs
• Care giving experience is helpful, but not required

• Day shift: Mon–Thurs 6:45 AM – 2:15 PM
• Swing Shift: Mon–Thurs, 1:45 PM – 10:15 PM
• Graveyard: Mon–Thu, 9:45 PM – 7:15 AM and Friday-Sunday 6:45 pm-7:15 am
• FT shifts: 30–40 hours/week
