DSP (Direct Support Professional)

Overview
This shift is evenings and weekends! We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum and those requiring memory care. Your primary focus will be to enhance the quality of life for our clients through patient care, medication administration, and the implementation of personalized care plans. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of others.

Duties
As a Direct Support Professional, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing direct support and assistance to individuals with disabilities in daily living activities.
• Implementing and following individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs.
• Administering medications as prescribed and ensuring proper documentation.
• Observing and reporting any changes in clients' conditions or behaviors to appropriate personnel.
• Engaging clients in social activities to promote social skills and community involvement.
• Assisting with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Collaborating with healthcare professionals, including nurses and social workers, to coordinate care effectively.
• Maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all clients.

Experience
Ideal candidates will have:

• Experience in patient care or direct support roles, particularly working with individuals on the autism spectrum or those requiring memory care.
• Familiarity with medication administration protocols and patient observation techniques.
• Background in social work or related fields is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• A genuine passion for helping others and making a difference in their lives.
