DSP/Caregiver ($18/hour, WEEKLY PAY)

A Steady Hand is searching for a kind, compassionate, and dependable DSP to work with a young female client in her own apartment in the Dublin area. She likes to be active, so do not plan on a shift just sitting around on your phone! She likes to make jokes, get to know her staff, and do lots of activities. She will occasionally have behaviors, but she has staff who have been with her for years who know how to train for success.

This position has a rotating schedule:

Week one Mon Tues 9a-8p Wednesday 8a-8p
Week two Mon 9a-8p wed 8a-8p sat 7a-4p

Duties

• Assist residents and clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Monitor vital signs and observe health changes to ensure safety and well-being
• Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols and document all care activities using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems
• Support residents with dementia or Alzheimer's by implementing memory care strategies and behavior management techniques
• Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely to assist with transfers and mobility needs
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and assist during mealtimes
• Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks and ensuring infection control standards are met

Requirements

• Prior experience in long-term care, home & community care, or senior living environments is highly preferred
• Knowledge of caregiving skills including first aid, medication administration, assisted living procedures, and dementia or Alzheimer's care
• Ability to work with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities with patience and empathy
• Strong communication skills for working effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams
• Valid driver’s license for driving responsibilities if required by the role
• Experience operating EMR systems for documentation purposes
• Certifications such as CPR/First Aid are advantageous but not mandatory; training can be provided if needed
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and perform caregiving tasks throughout your shift
