A Steady Hand is looking to hire an outgoing organized person to fill an overnight position with two brothers in Upper Arlington. They have been successful living in their own townhome with supports and services and they continue to thrive and gain their independence. Both of the guys attend day programs throughout the weekdays and go out often throughout the week when they are home. One of the gentleman cannot verbally communicate, but he can fully understand people in small sentences. The other brother is vocally expressive and has quite the personality.
Duties for the position include; prompts to wake on time, hygiene assistance (requires hands on), toileting and ostomy care assistance, dressing appropriate for the weather, meal prep and administering the medications.
On the weekends, they tend to stick to the same routine of wake time, breakfast and moving about for the day. Some light cleaning is necessary in the mornings. Hands on care with hygiene is a must when needed.
They are truly fun guys to be with!! They are laid back and go with the flow.
Each night shift has 8 hours of paid sleep time! The rate of sleep time is $13/hour and the wake times are $17/hour. Seep times are from 11pm-7am paid at $13/hour. Any scheduled hours around that time would be the regular rate of $17/hour. This is the perfect job for a college student or somebody looking for a supplemental income!

M-F 11pm to 10am
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in an supported living home.
- Assist individuals with daily directives such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal prep.
- Administer medications according to prescribed dosages and schedules.
- Accurately record documentation pertaining to the individual per the ISP.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents at all times.
- Promote and uphold the rights of the individuals, respecting their dignity and autonomy.
- Maintain a clean and organized home for the individuals and encourage them to participate in their daily duties to maintain their independence.
- Collaborate with family and other team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Skills:
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of Person Centered Service and respecting choices made by the individuals
- Proficient in medication administration and adherence to medication schedules.
- Ability to provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and meal preparation.
- Familiarity with individuals rights and the ability to advocate for their needs.
- Basic first aid knowledge and the ability to respond to medical emergencies.
- Ability to accurately document in detail, daily notes and
- Physical strength and ability to perform light house duties and and lifting 10-20lbs
