Duct Fabricator

We are seeking an experienced Duct Fabricator to manufacture, assemble, and install sheet metal ducts for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fabrication techniques, the ability to read technical drawings, and a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine duct specifications.
• Measure, cut, shape, and form sheet metal (galvanized steel, aluminium, etc.) using hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as shears, rollers, brakes, and spot welders.
• Fabricate various types of ducts including rectangular, round, spiral, and flexible ducts according to project requirements and standereds.
• Assemble duct sections and fittings using various methods such as welding, bolting, riveting, and screwing.
• Apply sealants, insulation, and other materials to ducts as specified.
• Perform quality checks on fabricated parts to ensure they meet dimensional and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop, adhering to all company safety protocols.
• Operate and perform basic maintenance on fabrication machinery and tools.
• Collaborate with the installation team to ensure fabricated components fit correctly on-site.
• Assist with the loading, unloading, and transportation of materials and fabricated ducts.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. A vocational training certificate in Sheet Metal Fabrication, HVAC, or a related field is highly preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience as a Duct Fabricator in the HVAC industry.
• Technical Skills:

o Proficient in using sheet metal fabrication tools and machinery (e.g., rollers, brakes, shears, plasma cutters).

o Experience with welding (TIG, MIG) and soldering is a strong advantage.

o Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.

• Physical Requirements:

o Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.

o Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

• Other Skills:

o Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

o Good understanding of safety procedures in a workshop setting.

o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

o Reliable, punctual, and with a strong work ethic.
