Ducting Technician

Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of ductwork systems used in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC). This role is essential in ensuring proper airflow and climate control in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation of Ductwork: Measure, cut, and assemble ducting components according to blueprints and specifications.
• Fabrication: Use hand and power tools to fabricate ducts from sheet metal or pre-insulated panels.
• Site Preparation: Prepare work areas and ensure all materials and tools are available for efficient installation.
• Mounting and Securing: Install ducts in ceilings, walls, and floors, ensuring they are securely fastened and properly aligned.
• Inspection and Testing: Check duct systems for leaks, insulation issues, and proper airflow; conduct pressure tests when required.
• Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues in existing duct systems.
• Compliance: Follow safety standards, building codes, and company procedures during all phases of work.

Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience in duct installation and HVAC systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and duct fabrication equipment.
• Physically fit and capable of working in confined spaces and at heights.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Basic communication skills; ability to work as part of a team.
