    Dugway Library Aide and Media Specialist/Ed-Net Supervisor 2026-2027

    This posting is for the Library Aide and Media Specialist position for the 2026-2027 school year at Dugway Schools. The contract begins August 2026.

    This position includes helping the 7th -12th grade students utilize the library. It also includes being a specials teacher for the K-6 students that will visit you once per week for 30 minutes per class.

    Ed-Net Supervisor
    This portion of the position includes working with the HS students that take online classes. You will supervise them as they participate in their college classes. Key responsibilities include supervising and supporting students, providing check-ins as necessary, and serving as the proctor for college exams. This role requires close collaboration with the school counselor.

    Position Purpose
    Under the general supervision of the Principal, to assist students, and teaching staff with an enriching library/media center environment with a wide range of reading and other educational materials; maintains library collection at school site; develops appropriate programs for students utilizing library resources; and instructs students and others on the proper use of the library resources.

    Essential Functions
    • Operates and supervises the media center.
    • Evaluates, selects and requisitions appropriate books, aids and other supplies or equipment, and maintains inventory records.
    • Coordinates with administrators and other teaching staff members to assist in the selection of books and other instructional materials; keeps students and teaching staff informed regarding new acquisitions for use in the media center.
    • Serves as a ready resource to students to provide research assistance.
    • Maintains a comprehensive and efficient system for cataloging all media center materials; assists students and teachers with the use of the system.
    • Coordinates system of lending library material to students and teachers.
    • Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
    • Ensures that student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the media center.
    • Participates in lessons with classroom teachers.
    • Develops and arranges media center displays.
    • Assists with the preparation and administration of the media center budget.

    Additional Duties

    Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

    Equipment
    Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone.

    Travel Requirements
    Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required on work days.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
    • Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
    • Ability to organize and coordinate work.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
    • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
    • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
    Work Environment
    Works in standard office and school building environments.

    Qualifications Profile
    Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Must be at least 21 years of age
    FLSA Status: Non-exempt

    Contract:
    35 hours per week, 183 days per year
    Support Professional Employees Salary Schedule: L1
    NESS pay eligible
    Benefit eligible, classified rate
    3 days personal leave, and 7 days sick leave
