Overview
Seeking a mechanically skilled and safety-focused Truck Driver to join our team in an aggregate plant environment. Responsibilities include driving and maintaining the appearance of company vehicles. The ideal candidate will be dedicated, eager to learn, and committed to building a career while upholding the highest safety standards.
Role & Responsibilities
- Operate and drive various types of equipment, including but not limited to haul trucks and water trucks, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in safe working condition and report any unsafe conditions to foreman or supervisor.
- Fueling of equipment.
- Obey speed limits and weight limits.
- Must be willing to work various schedules, when necessary, with little or no notice.
- Ensure that all work is done while in compliance with safety rules, regulations, and procedures set forth by MSHA/OSHA/plant.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices on trucks and plants.
- Perform additional job duties as assigned.
Ability, Skills & Knowledge
- Class A CDL – With at least 1 year of driving experience.
- Dump Driver - With at least 1 year of Dump Driving experience.
- Tanker - Prefer a double/triple Tanker endorsement
- Ability to work in confined spaces, and elevated positions.
- Great attention to detail.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
- MSHA certification preferred
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- Must be able to assist with plant repairs.
- Ability to climb up & down ladder multiple times a day.
- Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
- General knowledge of working around large aggregate mines, and equipment preferred.
- Must be able to work in a heavy industrial environment, exposed to weather elements and noise.
- Must have ability to work independently and problem solve while working alone or as part of a team.
- Must be able to pass a background check, fitness for duty evaluation, and pre-employment drug testing.
- High school education or GED equivalent.
