Dump Truck Driver

Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Dump Truck Driver to join our transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating dump trucks to transport materials such as gravel, dirt, debris, and other bulk loads to various job sites. Your expertise in truck driving, route management, and load handling will ensure efficient deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities

• Operate dump trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles such as roll-off trucks and tractor-trailers with precision and adherence to DOT, OSHA, and company safety protocols
• Supervise the loading of materials and operate levers/cranks to dump materials at the destination
• Drive assigned (usually repetitive) routes to and from construction sites, quarries, or landfills confidently, ensuring timely delivery of freight while complying with traffic laws and company policies
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of truck, including checking fluid levels, brakes, tires, lights, and safety equipment to ensure optimal operation
• Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, routes traveled, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance records
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site personnel to coordinate deliveries and resolve any logistical issues promptly

Skills

• Proven experience in truck driving, especially with dump trucks, roll-off trucks, or tractor-trailors
• Strong knowledge of route driving and delivery procedures across diverse terrains and environments
• Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission dump trucks confidently and safely
• Familiarity with different types of trailers including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and roll-off containers
• Experience with milling
• Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance with transportation regulations
• Understanding of industry jargon
• Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and dispatchers

Requirements

• Valid CDL A & B endorsement
• At least 1 yr experience driving dump trucks
• Some heavy equipment mechanical knowledge
• Valid med card
• Ability to lift over 50 lbs, climb into cabs, and operate in varying weather conditions

PAID WEEKLY! This is a contractor job for the dump truck season, April thru November. Will have other work following the end of the season. Work is based on assignments available but it is consistent. Expect to work Saturdays when season picks up and is based on assigned job site. Long work days (between 9-12 hr days).

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
